I contribute to a variety of open source software, especially related to geographical software and CAD software.
I got involved with open source as I got deeper into building DIY projects. I wanted to use open source tools for the entire stack where possible. As I was building my own projects, I found bugs and opportunities for improvement to the upstream projects I was using, and I started contributing back.
Building a stack of 3D design tools, in combination with open hardware 3D printers is very exciting to me.
