Basics

  • A Specialized Piece of Heavy Equipment for Logging
  • It picks up logs with an arm (similar to that of an Excavator ) and places them on an integrated (or trailer mounted) rack
    • The rack also tends to have hydraulic claws to help secure the logs during transport
  • Compared to Dragging the Felled Logs, Using Forwarders leads to less Soil Disruption
  • A Wood Chipper can be integrated as well, rather than a rack
