Basics
- A Method of Smelting wherein Powdered Ore and Heated Air and/or ("and" being in the case of Oxygen Enriched Air ) Pure Oxygen and often a flux (may be required not optional, need to read up more on this) are blown into a furnace
- Seems to have similar overall design to an Entrained Flow Gasifier , so development of one may aid in development of the other etc
- Produces Sulfur Dioxide rich gas which is more easily converted to Sulfuric Acid via the Contact process compared to the more dilute gases produced by "Electric Furnaces" (Source didn't specify between Electric Arc Furnaces and Vacuum Arc Remelting / Electro-Slag Remelting ?)
- This seems similar to the difference between Pre-Combustion Carbon Capture vs Post-Combustion Carbon Capture
- Supposedly the particle size used is similar if not identical to the output of Froth Flotation Cells

- Entrained Flow Gasification
- Flash Ironmaking Technology / Entrained Flow Direct Reduction Iron
- Common Refractory Lined Reactor (We could potentially have a Common Design for all three of these purposes, a Flash Smelter, A Shaft Furnace for DRI / an Entrained Flow Gasifier, etc)
