On nuclear energy, whether fusion or fission:

Interesting. No question that nukes may be better on several accounts than coal, but there is a better solution with solar and hydrogen that was ignored here. This presentation did not address the tradeoff between investing in solar vs nukes, so in my view this is biased. Because the deeper question is how to make renewables work. Her point on the people who don't yet have energy is more likely to be solved with distributed renewables. And of course with OSE stuff - create PV production everywhere in the world because we are talking about sand as the feedstock. Nukes don't address the centralization question anywhere as well as renewables, and are problematic from the nuclear waste perspective - to which she basically said ignore it and it will go away. That is my favorite answer, except in the case of nukes.
