Basics
- A System Where a Real Object or Part has a Digital Twin
- Useful for Simulation either for Things like FEM , but also for use cases such as E-Commerce and the OSE Video Game
- The Twin can be created via 3D Modeling (Such as Blender ) and CAD , or be "Captured" by 3D Scanning
- When the "Digital Twin" sends and/or receives data from it's Real World Equivalent the transfer of this is represented by "Digital Thread" (Not to be confused with E-Textiles )
- Along with Databases (Such as the Wiki and Part Libraries etc), The Internet of Things , and Warehouse Managment Software / Smart Manufacturing this unlocks a bright future for Development+Manufacture
OTS Options
Amazon has software to do this -
https://aws.amazon.com/iot-twinmaker/features/
3D scanners do it - [1]
Canvas has 1% accuracy, but that is 1" over 8' so not good enough. [2]
Internal Links
- Model-based systems engineering ( Seems to be the term for the integration of this + all the things mentioned above, but this may not be the correct understanding of the term, so just leaving the link for now)

- Thw Wikipedia Page on Digital Thread (This can potentially be it's own page if need be, leaving it here for now as it is a good related read)
