If you want the local court system to intervene on your behalf, you can file a temporary restraining order (TRO) against someone doing unlawful acts.
A lawyer is not required, if you understand basic requirements of the TRO, process (see Rules of Civil Procedure for Dummies), and evidence required (see Rules of Evidence for Dummies)
