Statistics

  • Global steel production - 2000 million tons per year [1]. 1000 tons of solar steel are possible per acre, or 1 million tons per 1000 acres (square mile). Global steel production can be replaced with under 2000 square miles allocated to solar steel. The Sahara is 3.5M square miles, for reference [2].
