Precision of machining down to 1 micron with a DIY lathe - [1]. This takes DIY to the next level.

2 Cylinders go in and out so easily that they spin.

Produced with a 1 micron accuracy lathe/grinder, which was self-built by a skilled technician with off-the-shelf parts such as super-precise marble blocks at $40 from E-bay combined with a precision motion spindle.
