Dear MCS,

I am building a microhouse, and we would like to take it ourselves to Texas (privately, not hiring a commercial carrier). We would load onto a 40 foot flatbed gooseneck trailer. We would be pulling with a RAM 3500 1 ton pickup truck, from our location in Maysville, Missouri, to Texas. The load will be a part of a microhouse, with dimensions of approximately 10' wide by 16' long, and weighing under 8000 lb. Do I need a permit from MODOT to carry such a load on MO roads? We can do this night or weekends, or even stay away from interstate highways if needed.

Please advise regarding the 3 situations:

1. Permits required if we stay on country gravel roads 2. Permits if we use the highway system 3. Permits if we use the interstate highway system

Thank you, Marcin
