Basics

Plotting by User: Eric

Background Info

  • In preparation for moving out on my own (as well as getting more orderly/clean) i was planning storage and as per what i said in the Basics section i think these things are the way to go
  • In particular the “Large Box”
  • Went hunting for these, Home Depot had a mixed bag, not QUITE what i was looking for
    • Ended up getting the Large Box (which came with the handle-cart bit, and a medium box, but i may return the medium box and order more of the large
  • What i got for my electrical work tools for work a few years ago with that was a Rigid 1.0 “Footlocker” style Box
    • While it was probably “Pro Gear 1.0” seeing if that still interconnects may be neat

To-Do’s

  • Find out the max load for it when in wall mount mode
    • Mainly wondering if using the wall cleats is even worth it, or if that only works well when the box is empty or filled with fluff (rather than metal tools or heavy batteries etc)
    • A Basic Plywood French Cleat shelf may work better and can support a bonkers amount of weight
    • Could also potentially secure it from the bottom, but that is moreso something one would do with packout/modbox, the side latch system progear uses isn’t THAT secure
  • Do some number crunching on how well they would line up in a Uhaul or van (a smaller box may stack better or vice versa)
  • If i do end up using the cleats DIY or Buy is a relevant question

Sourcing

  • A Home Depot Listing for “RIDGID Pro Gear System Gen 2.0 Durable XL 22 in. Stackable Tool Box” (Going for ‘’’~60 USD Each’’’ as of this edit)
    • Although it seems the Handle/Roller Comes with Every 25in Box they sell (ie may not be able to get it on it’s own
      • A Home Depot Listing for “ RIDGID Pro Gear System Gen 2.0 Stackable 25 in All Terrain Rolling Tool Box with 9 in. Wheels” ( Going for ‘’’~100 USD Each’’’ as of this edit)
