Field testing has shown that Lovejoy couplers with plastic spiders do not last more than 1 year, under the assumption that a non-machined (DIY) pump mounting is used. There are overheating issues which appear to melt the spider coupling with a 27 hp power cube. The power cube I and II spiders wore out after 1 year. Power Cube III spiders wore out within hours. Moving on to solid shaft couplings.
