The rate at which renewable energy is used to double its production. A 500 kW PV system is capable of breeding 1MW of new production (assumes 500kWhr requirement/kg Silicon, or doubling every 6 months. At such a rate, acre-scale energy production with PV allows replication of one facility - in terms of its energy base - every 6 months.
