OSE CAD Solution Specification
For the purposes of OSE, we are interested in a platform with these properties:
- Equivalent in ease of drawing things as Sketchup - simple model drawing, starting with cubes, spheres, and cylinders.
- Not a parametric modeler like Shapesmith - need to draw objects that are not definable easily with parameters.
- Allows for drawing in 2D and extruding for ease of drawing objects.
- Allows measurements to be made and to be set
- Generally, an interface like Sketchup is sufficient, as it allows any shape to be drawn easily.
- Smooth surfaces should be possible for round objects.
- Ease of drawing things like the CEB Press, Tractor, and Power Cube
- Allows for drawing of assemblies
- Allows rotation of objects for easy viewing
- Generation of 2D fab drawings is critical, with dimension arrows. This could be at the minimum the ability to take a part and place dimension arrows on it
- It would be good to do have ability to make annotations on 2D fab drawings
- Ability
