OSE CAD Solution Specification

For the purposes of OSE, we are interested in a platform with these properties:

Equivalent in ease of drawing things as Sketchup - simple model drawing, starting with cubes, spheres, and cylinders.
Not a parametric modeler like Shapesmith - need to draw objects that are not definable easily with parameters.
Allows for drawing in 2D and extruding for ease of drawing objects.
Allows measurements to be made and to be set
Generally, an interface like Sketchup is sufficient, as it allows any shape to be drawn easily.
Smooth surfaces should be possible for round objects.
Ease of drawing things like the CEB Press, Tractor, and Power Cube
Allows for drawing of assemblies
Allows rotation of objects for easy viewing
Generation of 2D fab drawings is critical, with dimension arrows. This could be at the minimum the ability to take a part and place dimension arrows on it
It would be good to do have ability to make annotations on 2D fab drawings
