Paint Program
Re: Best Painting programme? Here are some more alternatives I've discovered on my google searches-
~Smoothdraw- this is free and can be run with WINE. It's a pretty basic sketching programme but the interface is very user friendly http://www.smoothdraw.com/ ~ ChibiPaint- Very basic oekaki applet. Open source. I haven't tried it. http://www.chibipaint.com/ ~Artweaver. A Painter clone. Not as many materials/brushes as Painter, but quite capable. I liked it. It runs in WINE of course http://www.artweaver.de/ ~Project Dogwaffle. Haven't tried it, but it's supposedly pretty good. Sadly, it's been discontinued. Don't have a clue whether it runs in WINE or not. I tried googling it, but nothing came up http://www.thebest3d.com/dogwaffle/free/ ~ Twistedbrush Open Studio. Another Painter clone. I have this for Windows and I love it. Don't know if it can be run in WINE or not. http://www.pixarra.com/ ~Qaquerelle- found this on SourceForge.net. I don't know how it performs but it's for Linux. There's almost no information about this program on google at all. http://sourceforge.net/projects/qaquarelle/ ~Flowpaint- Looks very basic. Don't know much about this one either... ~Paint tool SAI- lightweight painting programme. I've used it in Windows and it was okay. I think it can be run in WINE, but there is no pressure sensitivity for tablets. http://sai.detstwo.com/sai/
