Basics:

  • Heat of vaporization of water - 41 kJ/mol
  • Specific heat of water - 75 J/(mol*K) - so from say 50C to 100C - we go through about 4 kJ/mol
  • Specific heat of steam - 37 J/(mol*K) - so from 100C to say 400C (700K) - we go through about 10 kJ/mol
