OSBP
An Open_Source_Battery_Pack 5-cell design concept similar to a AA battery holder, for 18 volt and up to 14-15 Amps that can be used in power tools and modular designs. Cells are *not* soldered or tack-welded: poron foam pushes internal bus-bars against the cells to keep a contact. Each and every cell is protected by BMS charging and current limiting, for safety and a longer lifetime. Despite being a row of 5 cells, the 18650 cells are visible at the top and bottom and therefore may interleave in a hexagonal arrangement to save space. Multiple packs can be screwed onto Bus Bars to provide power for high-current and high-voltage applications such as EVs, Welders etc, or wire-terminals screwed onto the internal contacts, to connect Anderson or XT Plugs for use in Electric Bicycles.
