Basics

A Device that easily shows the state / needs of an Industrial Machine via a stack of colored coded lights, hence the name (Not to be confused with Aviation obstruction lighting on Smokestacks though )
It can also be used to show the status of a Workcell

Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (Essentially Smart Factories ; all the machine control systems send data to a central device/system in a similar manner to how someone at the end of a row of machines can use these lights for, but with full details that 2-5 lights can't convey)
