Basics
- This page aims to go over what the cost of a 3D Printed Item should be
- The main aspects are:
- Filament or Resin Cost
- Cost of Electricity
- Prep/Finishing Materials Cost (Small cost, but Isopropanol / Paper Towels (Or just Micro Fiber Cloth / Lens Wipes ) for Print Bed Cleaning etc)
- Amortization of the Machine Cost
- Cost of Labor
- Any other costs would be covered/discussed in regards to the Open Pricing Standard page
Internal Links
- 3D Printer Maintenance costs (ie the "Depreciation" of it's value (i think, i'm not an accountant!) is a bit of a factor as well, but from what i've seen the only things of concern (in order of likeliness / how early it would be done in a 3D Printer's Life3) are:
- Regreasing Bearings (Either by greasing rail and moving carriage, or by full disassembly + "packing" with grease
- Replacing Bearings or Bushings / Precision Ground Rods (Or Linear Rails) (Or in the case of V-Slot Wheels replacing the wheels / plastic tires of sorts)
- Replacing Wires / Cable Chains
- Repair (Most likely via Micro Soldering ) or full replacement of a Control Board )
