Build Notes

Build Numbers

  • [170] Trusses, 16' - 160 foot, 2' on center. L/2+1 for count=81. Edge ones are doubled - 83. Add 2 for overhang - 85.
  • [85] Trusses - 24'. Same logic as above.
  • [20] bays therefore 20 headers
  • Walls: Nonbearing walls can be 24" OC [2], but bearing walls need to be 16" OC. (see source [3])
    • [88] - long side walls with windows. 4 rows - 160 feet/4=40 walls. 4 of these sets for the length.
    • [36] - interior walls, non-bearing
    • [18] - T walls, windowless
    • [8] - half walls - for short sides by entrance. Windowless. Do full one, double up mid stud, cut in half

8/17/25:

  • 450 2x4x16 (3 bunks of 150 + about 20 some left over)
  • 2x4x12 foot longs - 2 bunks -
  • 2x6 by 9 precut - good for tops and bottoms.
