Synfig Studio is a free and open-source 2D animation software, designed as powerful industrial-strength solution for creating film-quality animation using a vector and bitmap artwork. It eliminates the need to create animation frame-by frame, allowing you to produce 2D animation of a higher quality with fewer people and resources. Synfig Studio is available for Windows, Linux and MacOS X.
Usage
- You can import an image. Need to convert an svg file to a .sif file via inkscape.
- Need exporter extension for inkscape - to convert from svg to sif. see bottom of - http://www.synfig.org/cms/en/download/tools/
- Put the extension individual files into the extensions folder of inkscape
- Export with Inkscape
- Open with Synfig
- Click green man in panel to enter keyframes
- Start duration in menu - Edit - Properties - Time. Ex, 2 seconds.
