==Improving Dozuki Discussion==

Testing whether our Dozuki use is executed well:
=Explainer Video=

'''October 13, 2013''' To OSE Staff and recent DPVs, "Make believe you're a "civilian" and try to work your way to Dozuki, Backhoe, Pivot Module, Installation Guide and see what you find. Hopefully it's starting to make sense."
An explainer video on how to use Dozuki is forthoming as of Oct 15, 2013.

'''October 13, 2013''' Feedback from Dan Benemy (recent DPV), "Most importantly, I can't even find the installation guide!! I assume I could find it through the development spreadsheet, but I can't imagine non-developers doing that. If we're trying to get "Joe Civilian" to be able to do this, where do we expect he's coming from? What page does he land on?

Then, I think the categories on http://opensourceecology.dozuki.com/c/Backhoe could use a little love.

1. There should be a clear place to go to contribute to development, and a clear place to go for someone who wants to build their own. The subcategories for GVCS machines on the old wiki was actually good at this. It had:

*research and development,
*bill of materials,
*manufacturing instructions, and
*user manual.

In dozuki I think both new developers and users will be confused.

2. What does the "Development / Infographic" category mean? If that's the development section, why does it have infographic in the name?

3. The category pictures don't line up with the words. Why does modules have the cardboard prototype picture? If "Development / Infographic" is meant to be for development, maybe it should use a screenshot of the backhoe in sketchup."

'''October 14, 2013''' From Katie, Ops Manager, "I agree that it is confusing and here is my solution:
#Place a banner over modules that are ''IN DEVELOPMENT'' so developers know to click those modules and people who want to build know those modules are not ready for build.
#Remove the word development on the Development/Infographic Tab - Just keep everything organized as it would be if the development is complete, but while in development have an ''IN DEVELOPMENT'' banner up over each module or machine in development - a bit redundant, but I have mentioned this before
