Basics
- This page goes over current copyright law, problems with it, and attempts to change it
- Originally 28 years, then 48 years, then 56 years, then the lifetime of the original creator + 50 years, then the lifetime of the original creator + 70 years
- Problamatic as it is not in the intrest of big companies and publishers to reduce this, in fact it is in their intrest to increase it
- 1998 mickey mouse ALMOST entered public domain (they then lobbied the USA legislative branch and passed the Copyright Term Extension Act (CTEA) of 1998 )
