First and foremost, supply chain development should focus on Recursion.
That is - making more of the parts in-house, improving performance and improving the revenue model to the point of ending Scarcity Economics.
Some other ways include
- developing supplier networks among collaborators.
- Developing production machines collaboratively, so that more parts can be made in house.
- Searching existing suppliers for more favorable options: better, faster, cheaper, stronger, more consistent, better customer service, closer, etc.
This all focuses on the framework of Flexible Fabrication, as opposed to highly specialized machines.
