Basics
- This page goes over various methods and techniques to Future-Proof a building's wiring (both electrical, and communications/connections)
- This can also be applied to other devices/projects, but is most relevant in buildings due to the difficulty in their Retrofitability (ie adding new pipes/wires behind walls is rarely done due to work and time required (as well as the building becoming near unusable when this is done)
Methods
Utilization of Wire Conduit
- Using Electrical Conduit rather than stapling wires to the frame allows for cables to be unplugged from the internal side of outlets/ports and removed via pulling one end
- They can then be replaced
- Another useful tip when doing this is to leave some string/twine etc next to the cable for "pulling" the next cable through (and extras)
