Basics

  • An Automated System Similar to an E-Stop , but which uses various sensors and a dedicated device, to determine the cause and effect of any emergency situation and respond accordingly
  • It may not shut down the entire device/facility, burt rather just enough to isolate the affected area
  • It's main goals are:
    • Reduce consequences of an emergency situation
  • Flooding
  • Escape of Hazardous Materials
  • Fire
