Basics

  • A class of Contaminants of emerging concern
  • Abbreviated as EPPP(s)
  • Essentially Pharmaceutical Precursors, Pharmaceuticals, and Pharmaceutical Metabolites / Waste
  • Can come from a Point Source such as a factory, but the main context is in Black Water by people utilizing Pharmaceuticals
  • The Direct Impact is of concern, but synergistic effects are of special interest
