Basics
- A class of Contaminants of emerging concern
- Abbreviated as EPPP(s)
- Essentially Pharmaceutical Precursors, Pharmaceuticals, and Pharmaceutical Metabolites / Waste
- Can come from a Point Source such as a factory, but the main context is in Black Water by people utilizing Pharmaceuticals
- Various methods of Wastewater Treatment may concentrate these as well
- The Direct Impact is of concern, but synergistic effects are of special interest
