Basics
- A FDM (or potential Material Jetting ) 3D Printer which has a Conveyor Belt as a Print Bed
- Allows for a near infinite axis in one direction
- This does have the caveat of requiring a 45* Tilt of the X/Y axis which can add some challenges/change the approach for DFAM
- Build Surface can be an issues as well
- One can’t use PEI Coated Flexible Build Plates or Borosilicate Glass
- Some versions use a plastic or rubberized fabric (akin to a Treadmill)
- The best option as per the designer of the Open Source White Knight/Squire Belt Printers was a Single Weld Stainless Steel Belt that was PEI coated
Existing DIY/OS Versions
- ” Ender EZ Belt” Mod for Ender - [1]. Can use Marlin mod.
- White Knight (3D Printer) / Squire (3D Printer)
