Basics

  • A FDM (or potential Material Jetting ) 3D Printer which has a Conveyor Belt as a Print Bed
  • Allows for a near infinite axis in one direction
    • This does have the caveat of requiring a 45* Tilt of the X/Y axis which can add some challenges/change the approach for DFAM
  • Build Surface can be an issues as well
  • Some versions use a plastic or rubberized fabric (akin to a Treadmill)
  • The best option as per the designer of the Open Source White Knight/Squire Belt Printers was a Single Weld Stainless Steel Belt that was PEI coated
