I would like to advocate for keeping people in the main namespace.
Before Wikipedia created MediaWiki, most wiki I knew of where much more flat. MediaWiki was created to support an encyclopedia, a noble project/product. They decided that they wanted people in the User namespace, away from the content. I contend that we are just as, or more important than the content. Thus we need to be more discoverable when working in / reading a wiki. I try to do a double X redirect in MediaWikis that I am in. Talk:Marcin Jakubowski would redirect to User talk:Marcin Jakubowski and User:Marcin Jakubowski would redirect to Marcin Jakubowski, to keep functionality of the User namespace. Interested to hear what this hack on MediaWiki sounds like to you. Best, MarkDilley
