After spending over a decade developing a sustainable eco-tourism project on the island of Ometepe in Nicaragua my family and I are starting a new life in rural Alicante, Spain. I was at Factory E-Farm in November 2016 for the Aquaponics Greenhouse Build and that experience has reinforced my intention to use that particular Open Source Design as an initial basis for developing a small-scale diversified commercial farm. I plan to document my experience on my OSE Wiki Log (Martijn log) and I hope to contribute to the establishment of the Open Source Economy by developing a replicable model for sustainable (so also profitable) small-scale farming for the Spanish Mediterranean.
