Cost
- 30 cents Brooklyn seller - [1]
- 40 cents - 1/2" - [2]
- 10 cents - 10x2 N50 - [3]
- 30c 1/2" [4]
- 40 cents 12x3 n52 - [5]
- 20 cents @ 100, 12x3 n52 - [6]. Pull force advertized 6.5 lb. Note: this seller (pureplanetrocks) sent me 6x2 mm magnets, not the advertised 12x3. Waiting for resolution as of 2/14/17
- 17 cents USA 12x3 n35 - [7]
- 17 cents 12x3 from china n52 - [8]
- 17 cents 12x3 @ 1000 from UK n52 - [9]. This appears to be the best option.
- 7 cents 10x2 HK n52 (looks like 1/16" thickness) - [10]. While this looks cheaper, this is not because of the lower strength of 10x2.
- 11 cents 12x2 n52 - [11]
- 18 cents 20x10x2 n52- [12]
- 16 cents 12x3 n50 - [13]
- 12 cents 12x3 n50 china - [14]
- 14 cents 12x3 n50 china - [15]
- 34 cents 25x2 n35 china - [16]
- 2.6 cents 6x1.5 n35 china - [17]
Strength
- 12x3mm appears to be 8 lb - [18]
- 10x3mm is 5.5 lb - [19]
- 20x10x2mm is 4.8 lb - [20]
- 10x2mm n52 is 2.6 lb - [21]
- 12x2mm n52 is 3.8 lb - [22] - note - this is probably 1/16", or 1/2 the pull force of the 1/8" version (3 mm)
- 6x3mm n52 is 2.9 lb - [23]
- 6x6mm n52 is 4.2 lb - [24]
- 25x2mm n42 is 6.8 lb -[25]
- 6x1.5mm n35 - 1 lb - [26]
Notes
- 2 mm compared to 3 mm appears to be 1/2 as strong. 2 mm is really 1.6 mm, of 1/16", compared to 1/8", or 3 mm. That makes sense.
- Thus, it's more favorable to go with 3mm thickness.
Tested
- Ebay [27] - 25 for $11 - 48 cents.
