The important parts are manufactured in China

Their system is great...until you realize it requires access to commercially available parts.
The systems great, until you can't run down and get the Chinese manufactured pistons and other parts they are using. 
It's a interesting concept. Modular tools using the same power source.
The problem comes when you realize that while they manufacture the frames themselves...unskilled labor at it's finest,
your millage may vary, when it comes to large scale breakage...
All of the parts that actually make the things GO, are purchased parts. Mostly from china.

This is an important thing to address. Why build the machines for the GVCS before the Fab Lab? (Why Level 1 of the GVCS before Level 2?) Is it to support the Factor e "dogfooding" process? Is it because OSE starting with very little and working outward, building progressively more complex items as the support for that complexity becomes available? How does the plan to move to deeper levels of the GVCS, in which components will be manufactured on a small scale, fit in with the Proposal 2012 being put together right now?
