Basics

  • A List of everything that is needed for a high quality live stream, such as one for full on Remote Steam Camps on par with the hands on versions

Hardware

Webcam Station

  • Used for discussion/instruction portions of the camp
  • A 1080p webcam, and perhaps some lighting etc
  • Perhaps Redundant Internet Connection and an Uninterruptable Power Supply for all relevant electronics, if possible to prevent interruptions in the stream
  • Perhaps an external mic of some sort for clear, understandable audio

Top Down Camera

  • Used for top down views of assemblies, demonstrations, and paper diagrams etc
  • Open Source Overhead Camera Rig
  • Can use a webcam, or dedicated tethered camera
  • Goes on top of a desk, perhaps with a part assembly tray/measurement mat (need proper word), anti-static electronics assembly mat, paper, pen tablet etc

Camera

  • Either a smartphone, or a dedicated camera with tethering to a pc
  • Used for shots of moving around the shop etc
  • Somthing hardened like a Gopro perhaps? (can these be tethered?)
  • Peraps an external mic (small gopro one) too for better audio, and thus more clarity etc
