I am physicist by trade with research focused on experimental and theoretical quantum information technology development. My deeper interests lie in trying to engineer a better future for us all by democratizing tech. I was born and raised in the Southern Appalachians (Western SC/NC, Eastern TN, North GA) and have spent most of my adult life trying to understand what tech could be used to provide for stronger Appalachian communities. I'm a strong proponent of large employee owned industries a la Mondragon Corp and the like, and open source everything. I code, 3D print and woodwork (try) for fun, as well as make weird electronic jazz. I'm always down to talk about UFOs and ancient civilizations. I look forward to growing the open source tech world!
