Space heating is required for year-round occupancy of bulidings such as the Hab Lab.

Design considerations

  • Fuel source
    • Cordwood (8ft x 4ft x 4ft)
    • Local Trees: Osage Orange

http://www.ehow.com/list_7179572_dangers-burning-osage-wood-fireplace_.html burns very hot! Beware! Must mix with other woods.

    • Pelletized fuel
    • Other biomass
    • Burnable waste from site
  • Heating load (BTU/hr)
  • Heat circulation
  • Overnight (untended) performance
  • Use waste heat from on-site energy systems (steam engine, shop power cubes, etc)
