Basics

  • A form of the element Oxygen with 3 Oxygen atoms bonded together
  • Found naturally in the high atmosphere or by electronic discharges (like lightning) on earth
  • Unstable

Effects

  • Solar Radiation Sheilding (Due to Ozone Cycle in the Ozone Layer)
  • Greenhouse Gas (Very weird to measure due to sporadic production + inherant instability)
  • Possible Negative Health Consequences from High Concentration or Long Doses (like urban pollution sources etc)
  • Depolymmerization

Uses

  • Sterilization (Of water, of a gas stream/ac stream, of a used hospital room prior to reuse)
  • Ozone removes heavy metals from water - [1]
  • Ozone removes pesticides - [2]
