Whereever applicable, an instructional should contain the following, and a quality template should be developed to show these:

• 2D fabrication drawings (metal)
• 2d Exploded Part Diagram
• Machine-readable CAM files
• Circuit design file to build circuit boards, wiring diagram
• Design Rationale
• Conceptual Diagram
• Bill of Materials (with weblinks to sources)
• Demo Video
• Demo Photos
• Instructional Video (A to Z on the fabrication)
• Computer Software Control Code for Automated Devices
• Hydraulic Circuit Diagram
• Calculations (for scaling purposes)
• Augmented Reality instructional material - this is a big one, but it is the next generation level of documentation which would allow for rapid teaching of fabrication procedures
