  • ABS is 2kJ/kg/C specific heat capacity. To rise 200C - we seend 1.2MJ of energy=0.3 kWhr.
  • Practice shows extrusion of 20 lb/24 hr with 80W Supervolcano nozzle in 3D printing. That is about 2kWhr for 10 kg - or 1/5 kWhr/kg. That is only 5x better than steel for desktop plastic vs industrial steel. This figure matches the calculation based on specific heat capacity within a factor of 2.
