Strategy:
- List steps in order of duty – Power Cube to Tractor to CEB press
- Assess capacity required
- Allocate tasks to 6 fabricators and local shop
- List risks and recovery plans
- Assess daily, before and after workday
- Draw up personnel plan, detailed
Week Goal:
- Day 1: Power Cube Tested, 1 tank welded, 1 set of arms mounted, PC 2 Completed
Buy 2 starter switchesBuy 3 more 5-gallon tanks of hydraulic fluid- Buy remaining cylinders, hydraulic pumps and fittings, and power beyond fittings
- Check on bandsaw blades -LMH
- Test lathe for drilling, facing off, and fitting 2 fittings together
- Torch out wheel mount plates
- Torch wheel gussets - Thad
Weld wheel gussets to collars - Thad after Marcin- Get 4-set of wheels ready
- Cut wheel chain to length
- Figure out shaft design detail for couplers
- Mount 1 set of loader arms
- Day 2:
- Assumptions - motor mount plates need to be marked.
- Risk Recovery Plan - have Chris specify and draw the mounting plates - as a priority.
- Have somebody else do the gas filler holes
Power Cube Tasks
Shake Down Motor Size
- Measure Power Cube and location of mount for tractor
- [] Cut Engine/Pump Mount – 1/4x8 by appropriate measurement
- [2] Drill Mounts – 2 holes on ends each
- Transfer punch mount hole locations for top and bottom mount
- Mark mount hole locations on other side of beams
- Weld Mount eye on bottom of Power Cube
- Weld mount eye on bottom Power Cube Mount
- Mag drill holes in frame -
- Mount Power Cube on Tractor
Test Power Cube
Move PC with tractor IMount Power Cube on TractorConnect Hoses- Rumble!!
Check pressureTest flat groundTest slopes- Determine speed
Determine hydraulic pump requirements
Order Outstanding Components
- Order Power Beyond Fittings (5 sets) - [1]
- Order 2 more CEB main cylinders
- Order 4 more 1.22 cu in pumps
- 1.22 cu in pump fittings
- Order 4 more hose barbs
Build Hydraulic tanks
Work on 3 at a time- Grind tanks down to clean, including fuel tanks
- Clean edges and bungs
- Ream any necessary holes
- Lay out 3 sets on welding table
- Close off bungs with fittings
- Tack everything
- Weld
- Assemble tank
Prepare Hydraulic system components
- Mount suction strainer in tank
- Mount suction strainer fittings up to 3/4" hose barb
- Cut hose to size
- Mount breather cap
- Assemble return line filter assembly
Prepare Fuel Tank
- Torch filler cap
- Drill screw holes for filler cap
- Determine fuel line orientation - with Chris
- Torch hole for fuel line
- Weld fuel hole bung
- Weld bottom and top onto fuel tank
Prepare Engine and Pump Mounting
- Trim engine shaft
- Assess fittings for hydraulic pump
- Put fittings on hydraulic pump
- Cut plate for Engine Mount
- Cut plate for hydraulic pump
- [1] Cut angle for Power Cube Mount
Prepare Electrical System Components
- [4] Cut lugs
- [4] Drill lugs
- Prepare battery to solenoid cable
- Prepare solenoid to starter cable
- Select solenoid location, drill frame, and attach solenoid to frame
- Prepare charging wire, attach charging wire extension to engine
- Purchase starter switches from Maysville
- Search for wire at FeF
- Wire up starter switches - kill wire, solenoid wire, power wire
- Select location for starter switch
- Install starter switch
- Prepare and weld on mount for throttle cable
- Attach throttle cable
- Build battery box
- Secure battery to battery box
- Bolt on terminals
Weld Mufflers – do 8 more
- Secure 8 close nips, 1”
- Secure 8 elbows, 1”
- Cut 2 rings – flange and end piece of large tube
- Grind and ream rings
- Prepare 1 washer – 1/2” - for closing inner tube
- Prepare 1 closure of washer
- Mark pattern for muffler flange
- Torch muffler flange, use #1 torch head
- Procure gasket material for mufflers
Tractor Tasks
Assemble H-arms
Mount Loader Arms
- Torch tractor frame
- Torch arms for pivot
- Cut DOM gussets, 4.5 and 3.5" long
- Procure [4] 1-7/8" washers for tractor
- Assemble H-arms
- Put arms into place, fit in 1-7/8" shaft, use washers and 2 double split collars
- Align arms
- Tack DOM
- Raise arms
- Realign
- Tack in QA plate mounting eyes, with aligning shaft through both eyes
- When aligned, tack all in place, and weld
Build QA Plate Mounting Eyes
- Cut [2] 3x7x1" pieces with bandsaw
- Weld pieces together
- Drill pieces for eye hole
- Torch out slit
- Cut piece of 1" rebar for inside of arms, reinforcement
- Insert 1" shaft through both eyes of tractor arms
- Weld eyes in place
Mount Cylinders
- Drill cylinder mount plate holes in loader arms
- Mount cylinder plates (2 per arm)
- With loader arms in place, arrange bottom and top mounts, drill holes
- Attach main cylinder to arms
- With main cylinder attached, finetune location of bottom cylinder mount for equal extension of cylinders
- Drill bottom mount locations
- Bolt bottom mounts
Main Cylinder Bottom Mounts
- Cut 6x12x1/2 plate
- [2] Cut 4x6x1/2 plate
- Drill or punch 1" hole for pin
