XM Strategic Development
Introduction
Strategic Planning should occur at the beginning of every project. Such planning should assess available resources, OSE ecologies, OSE specifications, OSE community contacts, Team Culturing pages, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Open Manufacturing, various technical forums, and any other resources, connections, and relations - to plan an approach to developing a given product at the highest development velocity. A critical part of the strategy should be how to leverage crowdsourcing to accelrate velocity.
Unique Development Strategy
Every project will benefit from unique development strategies - and these strategies should be identified - based on the nature of the product, of the team, and of the resoures that are available. These unique features should be observed and documented on the Control Panel so that the Product Manager can take advantage of the strategy.
General Development Strategies
Tactics relevant to the development of all ~80 steps should be identified. As a first step, all the Steps on the Control Panel should be refactored into an instructional. The technique and strategy should evolve constantly. Strategic decisions should include assessment of:
- Strategic volunteer recruiting - identifying key volunteers who can produce work reliably
- Nonprofit sector recruiting of Engineers for charitable in-kind contribution of time
- Strategic leveraging of existing resources
- Starts with analysis of existing resources in Historical Analysis, Study of Industry Standards
- Design strategy - tap Advisory (1 hour/month) + SME team for design sessions
- Team Recruiting - who are ideal candidates for the team, and where to find them.
- Budget allocation. Product owner submits allocation strategy for entire project to the Stakeholder for approval.
- CAD generation strategy - 3D scanning strategy + strategic Flash Mob deployment
- FMEA - tap Advisory + SME team
- CAE - tap CAE Flash Mob
- Scaling Calculations - Product Owner does basic calculations.
- Rapid Prototyping Strategy - Circuit RP Flash Mob + 3D Printing RP Flash Mob + Lifetime Supply of 2020 + Lifetime supply of holed box beam/plate
