In Phase I (development phase of the GVCS, from 2008 to year-end 2015), design for fabrication relies on off-shelf parts - stock steel, Arduinos, standard connectors, standard hydraulic components, sprockets, hubs, couplers - such as can be found at Surplus Center, which has been the main source of hydraulics and mechanical components for builds at Factor e Farm.
