OSE Lasersaur Uncrating
1. Opening the crate and which side to lay it on.
You should have gotten the box standing vertical on the long face. You can open it like this. Screws to open it should be marked clearly.
2. Air assist hookup? How much of that system is installed? What connection?
Oil-less air compressors work well. Many people use airbrush compressors for noise considerations. Exhaust hook up is best done on the Right side with a 500 CFM or bigger radial fan. Plenty of info is in the list archive. https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/lasersaur
3. Electronics - are they connected?
yes
4. Tube - installed?
no
5. Vaccuum - what is needed for connector? Is there a connection flange?
This is the coupling on the entry panel: http://us.misumi-ec.com/vona2/result/?Keyword=MSBUL6 It mates with this tubing (extra is in the box): http://us.misumi-ec.com/vona2/detail/110300310650/?HissuCode=PUT6-10-CB&PNSearch=PUT6-10-CB This tubing has to be coupled with your compressor.
6. Power - are cords there or do I need one?
The entry panel has a standard C14 power connector like used on most PCs. There may be a cable with a US plug in the box. Not sure anymore.
In summary: what all do I need to go from un-crating to working cutter. I have an air compressor and shop vac I could use. We have 120 and 240 power.
Sure give the Shop vac a try. I am not sure it evacuates enough air. It also may not take long running hours well. Radial fans can be found at "hydroponics stores" for around $100.
In summary - from the current state - is it realistic for me to get it running by the workshop, if I am busy preparing other parts of the workshop?
Your guess is as good as mine.
