  • This page aims to explain the difference between “Cast Alloys” and “Wrought Alloys”

Cast Alloys vs Wrought Alloys

    • Cast Alloys optimize for Molten Flow / Cooling Shrinkage / Crack Formation when Cooling in a Mold etc (or potential issues with the time spent at that high heat soak, such as alloy component precipitation (undesirable, unlike Case Hardening etc) etc
    • Wrought Alloys don’t optimize for casting, and thus if that process is not to be used can be stronger etc
