The idea of an automated CEB construction robot was first suggested by nv-nepo. It is an XYZ automated pick-n-place supported by four pillars so that the total build volume is larger than the house to be built. Compressed earth bricks are picked up and placed in position, one after the other, and eventually a building is constructed. Based on 1/3 scale testing he estimates a cost of $1,000 for the robot. This is an example of how the robot could be constructed and possible augmentations like a tent and multiple grabbers.
