The microtrac is a tractor for small scale agricultural uses or where land features require a more flexible tool than a full-size tractor.

The microtractor consists of 2 modules from the Global Village Construction Set -a power cube - our flexibly hydraulic power unit, and the modular wheel unit.

These two are simply put together - by mounting the wheel units around the bottom of the frame - resulting in traction machine.

Small tracks are placed around the wheels.

The Power Cube feeds the modular wheel units, and motion is controlled through a hydraulic valve.

To finish off the Microtracor, we need to add to add a quick attach mount for implements - which cosists of a single hydraulic cylinder that moves an attachment plate up and down to lift implements onto itself.

Possible implements include a rototiller - a supersized string trimmer mower, a calfdozer - or a small version of a bulldozer, a snow blower, chipper, stump grinder, or baler for small round bales.

It may also be used as a mobile power unit to power the Compressed Earth Brick press, a power generator, the open source ironworker machine, of many other machines.

To sum up - if we have one of our modular power units - and a pair of quick attach wheels - then we can produce the microtractor readily - and that is the beauty of modular design.
