- Completed rough design of Loader arm module with hydraulic pistons and quick attach plateFile:OSEquickAttach.skp:
- File:LoaderArm1a.skp
- Fixed the pivot and hydraulic cylinder angles on the File:DozerBlade3.skp
June 12, 2013
- Began work on the modular redesign of the loader arms File:LoaderArm1a.skp. Still needs lots of work, look into sourcing and prices of larger bore hydraulic cylinders.
- After a discussion with Marcin, revisited the dozer blade to create the design for the actual blade as well as the mounting structure. Led to small alterations with the mount, but not much. Will need to do some minor adjustments and measurements on it tomorrow. File:DozerBlade3.skp

- Completed the conceptual design for hydraulic set-up on the dozer blade File:DozerBlade1.5.skp
The hydraulic cylinders are sourced: Angle: https://www.surpluscenter.com/item.asp?item=9-7261-10&catname=hydraulic Tilt: https://www.surpluscenter.com/item.asp?item=9-8262-06&catname=hydraulic
- Long conference with whole management and design team to get bigger picture ideas on modularity and how what we are designing can be utilized in this model: see Chris DeAngelis Log for File:Machine module compliments.xls.
- Began work on the Loader Arm Module: File:LoaderArm1a.skp
June 10, 2013
- Started designing the hydraulic set up for the movement of the File:DozerBlade1.5.skp
- This design is based off the modular dozer blade found here:
http://www.degelman.com/products/material_handling/dozer_blades/5900/index.php
- Hydraulic cylinder for angle:
http://www.amazon.com/inch-Bore-stroke-Hydraulic-Cylinder/dp/B00BKPMRD2
- Hydraulic cylinder for tilt:
June 7, 2013
- Revisited the attachment for the File:DozerBlade1.skp, made a new way of joining the arm to the blade for movement in six directions. Here are screen shots of the preliminary designs:
- This is the more complete model. The dark blue pieces represent hydraulic pistons and where they would attach. This is still a sort of rough sketch. Measurements are not exact. However the central plate allows the blade to have tilt, while the pin attached to the plate gives it the forward and back angled motion. This design attaches the dozer blade to the LifeTrac (File:3DLifeTrac.skp):

Current ideas and designs found online for the Bulldozer 6-way Blade:
- This one is the most modular design with very compact and simple hydraulics:
http://www.degelman.com/products/material_handling/dozer_blades/5900/index.php
- Detailed description of one style for mounting arms and hydraulic control (4-way):
http://www.freepatentsonline.com/7013983.pdf
- Good Specs on weights, heights, and angles for varying widths of 6-way blades:
http://www.freepatentsonline.com/7013983.pdf
- Began work on sketchup file for the blade File:DozerBlade1.skp, with a joint for 6 way motion.
- Having difficulty determining if this joint is feasible or strong enough. Trying to adapt the concept of a large bearing joint for the entire arm of the dozer blade attachment.
Here are some images of the joint:

- Corrected orientation of PowercubeFile:PTcube2.skp in design. Updated version: File:Microtrac preliminary.skp
- Altered Quick Connect Wheels and motors to fit the MicroTrac.
- Designed the hub attachment to fit wheel to shaft for both the 20" and 21" donuts at the shop.
- Began research on bulldozer blades in order to begin design process.

This is the microtrac frame with a powercube File:PTcube2.skp. Sorry its upside down, its just for size reference at this point. Also it has the Quick Connect Wheels and the wheels with tracks File:Micro fulltrack6 4.skp.

This is an updated model of the frame for the microtrac using the warehouse tubing found in the File:Warehouse.skp.
