Mix of Mediterranean and English Cottage and Polish Cottage

My idea of a beautiful house is the old english cottage, which was practically "devoured" by the landscape. The interior should be cozy and "lived in"—a fireplace, comfortable couches, a library, light coming in through big windows in the winter, coolness and shade in the summer provided by vines and trees—but the exterior is all about the vegetation:

I've lived in hypermodern houses and, no matter how stylish, they still feel cold and impersonal. I guess what I'd like our home to become is a cross between an english cottage and a traditional mediterranean house, which are both based on perfect flow and integration between the inside and the outside.
