This appears to be the least expensive and also open source chest-fridge to refrigerator converter from Meara's friend. This yields lifetime of service/ability, so we can modify/fabricate with a basic CNC mill, which is part of the basic GVCS package.

The point of the above is that you can get a chest freezer to function as a refrigerator - with a factor of 10 energy reduction (150 Watt hours per day, or equivalent to running a laptop for 2 hours) compared to the USA average of about 1500 watt hours per day [3].
