A project is Open Source when its codebase is public and editable, usually hosted on Github. Now, we have an interesting upgrade/ addition to the excellent Github: Utopian.io

It turns out, these tools and concepts can be applied to help you take control of anything you want. It may have started with software, but voluntary choice and peer-to-peer collaboration is now enabled and gaining momentum in just about every aspect of life: education, food, tools & hardware, communications, finance and trade, transportation, as well as security and governance.

Maybe the future could see a proliferation of maker spaces and markets operated organically and sustainable by community activists using these tools and technologies for collaboration of design and action.
