Basics

  • Abreviated CVT
  • Essentially a gearbox/transmission with infinitely many "stops", unlike traditional ones which only have a certain amount of gears to "stop" at, and thus only that many gear ratios.
  • They can do this by many different methods (see the useful links section for some detail on these)
  • The most useful to us may be a hydraulic one detailed here

Used For

  • Tweaking engine + turbine power outputs
